  About the customer

  Our customer is the largest producer of ‘electric resistance welded (ERW)’ steel pipes in India.

  Customer Challenges

  Having a vast distribution spread in 24 cities across the country, customer was facing challenges in their transportation management, this included:

  1. Manual indent creation

  2. Unstructured data

  3. Follow-ups with transporters on calls and mails

  4. Lower visibility of operations to the management

  5. Inefficiencies in information flow among various departments

  6. No reporting mechanism in place

  How we solved it?

  We introduced & implemented “Transport Management System” (TMS) to digitalize the operational activities.

  1. Customized and implemented the software; for both web & app interface

  2. Developed a custom-made mobile application for transporters to accept or reject the indent raised

  3. System based timestamps of the gate in & gate out of trucks

  4. Feature to directly upload documents in the system

   The main modules of the system included:

  1. Automation of the indenting process

  2. Performing transporter activities through transporter app/web

  3. Performing site activities by admin users

  4. Dashboard visibility to the admin users

  5. Reporting

   Key benefits after the implementation of TMS:

  1. Transformation from manual to digitized transportation management

  2. Dashboard view for the customer to see the number of indents created, accepted & rejected

  4. Visibility of all the plants in a single screen for the management

  5. TAT visibility by timestamping of all the relevant activities

  6. Performance evaluation criteria for the transporters

  7. MIS reports were extracted basis the need of the user which:

  7.1 Reduced the unusual delays in the process

  7.2 Helped in analysing the performance of the transporter to drive business excellence
